Not every form of recognition means the same thing. Travelife assesses defined sustainability standards, while traveler awards are connected to guest experiences and reviews. A certification is based on a set of requirements rather than a general opinion about a company. Within Beach Safari, Travelife recognition applies to specific accommodation and tour operator activities. This makes it important to look at exactly which part of the organization has been assessed.
Traveller awards reflect guest experiences.
Traveller awards are based on another type of evidence. They reflect reviews, ratings or guest feedback collected by an external platform. These awards can provide an additional indication of how travelers experience a journey, accommodation or service in practice.
Professional affiliations have a different role
Industry memberships and professional affiliations are not the same as certifications or traveler awards. They connect Beach & Safari Holidays with tourism organizations and professional networks in Tanzania, Zanzibar and across Africa. Our Travelife recognition
Travelife is an international sustainability certification system for the tourism industry. Its accommodation and tour operator programs apply to different types of businesses, which means the recognition held by a resort should not be treated as the same certification as the recognition held by a tour operator.
Within Beach Safari, four Zanzibar properties are listed as Travelife Gold certified, while the Northern Tanzania tour operations of Beach & Safari Holidays are recognized separately through the Travelife Partner program for Tour Operators.

Travelife Gold certified accommodations in Zanzibar
Four Zanzibar properties within the Beach Safari offering are currently listed as Travelife Gold certified:
Travelife for Accommodation assesses environmental and social areas including emissions, biodiversity, human rights, fair labor, child safeguarding and animal welfare. Certification therefore provides an independent framework for assessing sustainability practices within the participating accommodation.
Travelife Partner for our Northern Tanzania operations
The Northern Tanzania operations of Beach & Safari Holidays are recognized through the Travelife Partner program for Tour Operators. This recognition relates specifically to the tour operator side of the organization and should be viewed separately from Travelife certification for accommodation.
The program focuses on sustainability management within travel businesses, including responsible business practices and the relationships a tour operator has with destinations, communities and suppliers.

Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Award 2026
Beach Safari currently displays the Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Award 2026 among its external recognitions. Tripadvisor awards are connected to traveler feedback on its platform and provide a separate form of recognition from sustainability certification.
A traveler award does not assess the same criteria as Travelife. Instead, it adds the perspective of guests who have experienced the service themselves.
